The European Union is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a programme entitled “EU Support to the Rule of Law II (EUROL II)” in order to support Montenegro to strengthen the efficiency of the judiciary and to counter corruption and organized crime through more effective investigation and prosecution.
Expected Results
- Enhanced efficiency of the judicial system.
- Effective enforcement of legislation concerning the fight against organised crime and corruption.
- Enhanced capacity of programming/monitoring of EU assistance in the Rule of Law sector, including the monitoring sector Budget Support programmes.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must be equal or less than the available budget i.e. € 3,000,000.
Location
Actions must take place in Montenegro.
Duration
The planned duration of the action should not be lower than 30 months nor should exceed 36 months.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a European Union Member state public sector institution/operator or mandated body
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- be experienced in the law enforcement and justice sector.Experience in law enforcement and justice reform in candidate and potential candidate countries for accession to the EU would be an asset.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations.
- The lead applicant must act with individually or with co-applicant(s).
