The European Commission is calling for proposals for Capacity Building in the Field of Sport.
Scope
Capacity-building projects are international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of sport in Programme and Third countries not associated to the Programme. They aim to support sport activities and policies in Third countries not associated to the Programme as a vehicle to promote values as well as an educational tool to promote the personal and social development of individuals and build more cohesive communities.
Objectives
The action will aim at:
- raising the capacity of grassroots sport organisations;
- encouraging the practice of sport and physical activity in Third countries not associated to the Programme;
- promoting social inclusion through sport;
- promoting positive values through sport (such as fair play, tolerance, team spirit);
- fostering cooperation across different regions of the world through joint initiatives.
Thematic Areas
Proposals should focus on certain thematic areas defined at programming stage. Examples of particularly relevant areas are:
- promotion of common values, non-discrimination and gender equality through sport;
- development of skills (though sport) needed to improve the social involvement of disadvantaged groups (e.g. independence, leadership etc.).
- integration of migrants;
- post-conflict reconciliation.
Funding Information
- The total budget earmarked for this call for proposals is estimated at EUR 3 179 million:
- Education and Training: EUR 2 813,11 million
- Youth: EUR 288,13 million
- Sport: EUR 51,89 million
- Jean Monnet: EUR 25,8 million
Eligibility Criteria
- Any public or private body active in the fields of education, training, youth and sport may apply for funding within the Erasmus+ Programme. In addition, groups of young people who are active in youth work, but not necessarily in the context of a youth organisation, may apply for funding for learning mobility of young people and youth workers, youth participation activities and DiscoverEU inclusion action.
- The following countries can fully take part in all Erasmus+ Programme actions ( 2 ):
- the 27 Member States of the European Union and overseas countries and territories,
- third countries associated to the Programme:
- the EFTA/EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway,
- EU candidate countries: the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia.
