European Commission is seeking applications for its grant programme entitled “Legal migration projects with third countries” to promote the role that legal migration can play in the overall management of migratory flows, by encouraging and promoting the development of concrete projects by Member States in the area of legal migration, with a particular focus on labour migration (including opportunities for traineeships).
Objectives
- Promotion of specific labour and training-related migration pathways between third-countries and EU Member States, involving employers, other economic and social partners and civil society.
- Development of actions to achieve a better match between skills and demands in the EU’s labour markets, in close cooperation with all relevant labour market actors, including employers, chambers of commerce and industry, national business organizations, trade unions, education and training institutions, including universities, and networks delivering work-related training, and civil society.
- Knowledge- and experience-sharing on successful actions to promote legal migration to the EU, taking into account the needs of migrants, the host societies as well as countries of origin.
Funding Information
- The grant amount requested must be between EUR 750.000 and EUR 2.000.000.
Expected Outcomes
- Development of specific labour and training-related migration projects, involving the actual mobility of the third-country nationals concerned to one or more EU Member States, benefiting the migrant worker, the countries of origin and the (EU) destination country or countries.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a grant, applicants and co-applicants must be:
- Legal persons (applications from natural persons are not eligible).
- Established in a Member State participating in AMIF (this does not apply to international organisations).
- Public bodies (including local authorities, public employment services, youth services and education institutions) or entities working on a non-profit basis.
- International organisations may be established outside of the Member States of the European Union participating in AMIF.
- All EU Member States, with the exception of Denmark, are participating in AMIF. Legal entities established in Denmark cannot participate in this call.
- International Organisations can participate as a Lead applicants /coordinators or as a co-applicants.
- For-profit organisations cannot participate as a Lead applicants /coordinators and can participate as a co-applicants.
- Union agencies can be neither Applicants nor Co-applicants.
- For British applicants: Please be aware that eligibility criteria must be complied with for the entire duration of the grant. If the United Kingdom withdraws from the EU during the grant period without concluding an agreement with the EU ensuring in particular that British applicants continue to be eligible, you will cease to receive EU funding (while continuing, where possible, to participate) or be required to leave the project.
