The European Commission is accepting applications for its program entitled “Digital Economy Support for the development of innovation and digital transformation of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)”.
This call is part of the program “Support for the 2014-2019 Social Plan of El Salvador” The overall objective of this call for proposals is to accelerate the digital transformation of MSMEs.
Objectives and Priorities
- Priority attention will be given to the cultural and creative industry,a sector that has seen particularly affected by the pandemic and where, in addition, the participation of young people is the majority.
- The specific objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen the University5 – Private company with the objective of strengthening business development services related to ninnovation, digital transformation, incubation and acceleration of MSMEs.
Types of Activities
- The types of activity that may be financed under this call include, among others, the following (indicative list):
- Development and application of solutions based on the services of the Copernicus program11
- Promote and/or improve incubation and acceleration services for MSMEs for the creation and development of digital startups
- Promote disruptive business models and/or processes, focused on innovation and transformation digital business.
- Promote the digital transformation of the internal processes of MSMEs.
- Strengthen knowledge in electronic signatures, financial inclusion, intellectual property, personal data protection to take advantage of electronic commerce.
- Strengthen Laboratories, Technological Centers and/or Support Center for Technology and Innovation Dissemination of digital regulations with the business sector.
- Hackathons for the collaborative development of digital solutions for companies and/or startups.
- Improvement of products or services with the use of technology and innovation.
- Exchange of digital transformation experiences between MSMEs.
- Promote the creation and strengthening of bootcamps on digital issues.
Funding Information
- Minimum amount: 1,500,000 EUR
- Maximum amount: 3,000,000 EUR
- Duration: The initial planned duration of an action may not be less than 24 months nor more than 48 months.
Location: The actions will be carried out in El Salvador. Proposals that include actions will be positively valued.to be implemented outside the metropolitan area of San Salvador.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- Be a legal entity and
- Not for profit
- Be established in a Member State of the European Union or in an eligible country in Latin America (Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Dominican Republic , Cuba).
- Be directly responsible, with its co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), for the preparation and management of the action and not merely act as an intermediary.
