The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for “Civil Society Organisations and Local Authorities (CSO-LA) Programme: Enhancing CSOs’ Contribution to Governance and Development Processes in Thailand”. The objective of this call for proposals is to support local CSOs’ contributions to Thailand development process through governance, public accountability, and inclusive policy-making, with a view to contribute to poverty reduction and the attainment of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The programme is divided into two lots:
- LOT 1: Actions implemented in Thailand– 3 000 000 EUR
- LOT 2: Actions implementedin the Deep South of Thailand -1 000 000 EUR
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- LOT 1:
- minimum amount: EUR500 000
- maximum amount: EUR750 000
- LOT 2:
- minimum amount: EUR 450 000
- maximum amount: EUR 500 000
Expected Outcomes
- Improved environment, space and mechanisms for Thai civil society organisations to participate in governance, policy making and accountability processes, at local or national levels;
- Strengthened capacity and advocacy roles of Thai civil society organizations to effectively participate in and contribute to policy dialogue and accountability process at local or national levels;
- Improved sustainability of networks of well-informed civil society organisations, at local or national levels, sharing experience and disseminating knowledge leading to joint development of strategy for advocacy and dialogue;
- Strengthened multi stakeholders platforms for dialogue between civil society, national and local authorities, private sector and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting marginalised populations;
- Improved policy making at local level, as well as policy implementation and accountability, through enhanced collaboration between Civil Society Organisations and local authorities;
- Ensured equal rights and capacity for women to participate in policy making and governance processes at national or local levels.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- be Civil Society Organisations
- be established in Thailand or a Member State of the European Union or in a Member State of the European Economic Area (EEA)
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies)are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
- International organisations are NOT eligible under this call for proposals.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
