The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for its “Improving social protection for vulnerable children/youth in communities, creating sustainable and inclusive growth for the benefit of the youth in Swaziland – Enhance CSO contribution to governance and development processes at country level.”
The programme is divided into three lots:
- Lot 1: Access for more young people living with disabilities to rehabilitation services.
- Lot 2: Community strengthening to better prevent/care for children/youth at risk.
- Lot 3: Jobs, skills and youth entrepreneurship in sustainable agriculture, management of natural resources and sustainable energy.
Objectives
- To increase access to social services (e.g. rehabilitation, vocational services) for children and youth with disabilities so that they can enjoy full inclusion and participation in all aspects of life
- To empower communities to better prevent vulnerability and care for children/youth at risk
- To create jobs, skills and/or entrepreneurship opportunities for youth in the sustainable agriculture value chain/sector, sustainable management of natural resources (land and water) and sustainable energy value chain/sector.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals, for an individual Lot 1, Lot 2 or Lot 3 must fall between:
- minimum amount: EUR 350,000
- maximum amount: EUR 650,000
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person
- be non-profit-making
- be a specific type of organisation such as: civil society organisation (CSO)
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or Swaziland and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s).
- If awarded the grant contract, the lead applicant will become the beneficiary identified as the Coordinator. The Coordinator is the main interlocutor of the Contracting Authority. It represents and acts on behalf of any other co-beneficiary (if any) and coordinate the design and implementation of the action.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
