The European Union is seeking applications for “Voice of Your Identity” Project which is a funding initiative with a range of partners designed to enhance coverage of human rights issues, particularly women’s rights in the Jordanian media by supporting community media initiatives in the production and dissemination of content.
These initiatives include civil society-led projects, especially women-led projects, and community information projects that promote human rights, civic participation and the role of women in society. The initiative also aims to strengthen the voices of women, remote communities and marginalized groups.
The Voice of Identity program provides support to non-profit, community-based media and civil society organizations operating in Jordan that work to reach out to women. The Voice of Identity program does not provide individuals with an identity card. Any organization can apply for a “Voice of Your Identity” grant on the condition that it is legally registered and does not work for profit, nor does any religious or political organization.
Value and Details of the Grant
- Activities that include enhancing and improving coverage and quality coverage of human rights issues in the media, especially women’s rights are supported.
- Applicants can request support ranging between 25,000 euros and 35,000 euros.
- The project can be between 12 months and 18 months, provided that the institution that receives the subsidy will participate with 10% of the grant amount in support of its implementation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants are offered to eligible institutions from the target group, namely, community-based media, non-profit organizations and civil society organizations operating in Jordan.
- Individuals can not receive grants directly but can be utilized by an institution that meets the criteria.
