Deadline: 4-May-25
The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board has announced the Grassroots Grants program 2025-26, inviting applications for funding.
Priority Areas
- Eligible projects will contribute to one or more of the priorities of the Eyre Peninsula Regional Landscape Plan, which are:
- Water – water allocation planning and water affecting activities.
- Sustainable agriculture – protecting the region’s soils and facilitating regenerative land management to improve soil health.
- Pest plants and animals – supporting landowners to undertake priority pest plant and animal activities and reducing threats from impact-causing native species.
- Biodiversity – protecting and restoring priority coastal and in-land biodiversity.
- Community – community including Aboriginal peoples, actively engaged in landscape management.
Funding Information
- Grassroots Grants program funding is provided through the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board levy.
- Funding for the 2025-26 financial year is available across two funding streams:
- Small Community Grants for up to $5,000 (GST exclusive)
- Large Community Grants for up to $15,000 (GST exclusive)
- This year the total pool of funding has been increased to $123,000 (GST exclusive).
- Funding will be awarded to projects on a competitive basis, with the EP Landscape Board expecting to fund a range of projects across the region that address its priority areas.
- Projects are to be fully acquitted by 15 June 2026. However, if a project is likely to benefit from an additional six months, for example where seasonally dependent works such as tree planting will be undertaken or school based projects, applicants may apply for up to 18 months to complete the project.
Eligible Expenditure
- Funding is provided strictly to support the project and its core activities as per the grant application and any approved variations.
- Only expenditure incurred by the funding recipient, directly attributable to the approved project, will be considered eligible expenditure.
- Eligible expenditure cannot be incurred before the grant agreement has been signed by both parties and must be incurred on or before the project completion date.
Ineligible Activities
- For the purpose of assessing a project proposal, ineligible activities and items include but are not limited to:
- establishment of new production sites or facilities;
- activities causing or with the potential to cause environmental damage, either directly or indirectly;
- preparation of the original grant application; and
- routine administration expenses including but not limited to accommodation, office computing facilities, insurance, legal and accounting fees and bank charges.
- This list is not exhaustive. Other activities or specific expenditure may be ineligible where the EP Landscape Board decides they do not directly support the achievement of the planned outcomes of the project or that they are contrary to the spirit and intention of the funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible the applicants will need to:
- be an individual, volunteer, community organisation, farming group or other working body (e.g. local government association);
