The Finnish Cultural Foundation is accepting applications for its Central Fund Grants to award the research and artistic work, and projects in science, art and culture.
Types of Grants & Funding Information
- Eminentia grants
- One or more Eminentia grants of €22.000 based on applications are awarded annually to senior scientists and artists to be used for following purposes:
- reflective writing about one’s own scientific or artistic lifework or experience from it
- promotion of interaction between science and the arts with aim of utilizing competence and methodology expertise in one’s own field for promoting another field of science or the arts
- proactive working to promote the importance of culture in society.
- One or more Eminentia grants of €22.000 based on applications are awarded annually to senior scientists and artists to be used for following purposes:
- Science Workshops
- Science Workshop grants are intended for larger research groups for research into their chosen scientific research problems, on which at least some of the scientists have already been working.
- One or two grants of €100.000 per year are awarded for two-year science workshops.
Eligibility Criteria
- Grants are awarded mainly to private persons and working groups. Grants awarded to organizations are mainly for implementation of various cultural projects.
- A working group or organization that is an unregistered entity can distribute a grant among its members. However, the person in charge of the working group will be responsible for the grant awarded. If the grant is intended for only one member of the working group, he or she should apply for the grant personally.
- A grant cannot be sought on behalf of another person.
- Grants are not awarded to public sector bodies and entities.
