The Greater Washington Community Foundation (GWCF) is offering Food for Montgomery: Resilience Building to address the alarming spike in food insecurity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This RFP is for nonprofit partners committed to building a more resilient, efficient, nimble, and equitable food security system across Montgomery County.
Specifically, this Resilience Building grant opportunity will focus on helping partners pivot, collaborate, and/or innovate their food security work.
Goals
The Food for Montgomery Fund, which is stewarded by The Community Foundation, pools private philanthropic contributions to make grants that complement public investments, fill in gaps, test innovations, and scale solutions. The goals of the initiative are to:
- Meet the urgent need for food throughout Montgomery County;
- Support the county’s small businesses and farmers; and
- Build a stronger, more resilient food security system to see the community through this crisis and beyond.
Funding Information
- Grant awards for proposals benefiting a single organization will be capped at $75,000, while collaborative proposals will generally be considered for up to $150,000.

Applicants will be required to submit the following:

- Leadership Summary
- Proposal Budget
- Organizational Budget to Actuals (Current Fiscal Year)
- Organizational Budget to Actuals (Previous Fiscal Year)
- Letters of Support (Optional)
- IRS Determination Letter
