The French Embassies in Serbia and the French Institute in Serbia continue their commitment to promoting equality have announced the call for projects “Fight against Discrimination and Equality”.
The Embassy of France in Serbia supports projects at the local level, which are the bearers of associations and organizations civil society in Serbia that advocates for equality between women and men and who are fighting discrimination against LGBTI people, people living with HIV and/or who are handicapped. Next to the activities carried out by itself, the Embassy of France in Serbia supports high-quality projects whose bearers are associations and civil society organizations in Serbia, whose target group is young and implemented at the local level.
Goals
- The aim of this contest is to provide support to actors of civil society in Serbia (associations, think tanks) in projects aimed at raising awareness of the population, especially young people (less than 30 years), organizing training and capacity building of actors at the local level, especially in the preparation of projects, in the following areas:
- Equality between women and men (the fight against gender-based violence, sexual stereotypes, economic strengthening of women, especially in rural areas, information campaigns).
- Fighting discrimination (primarily discrimination against people living with HIV, discrimination of members of the LGBTI population and/or persons with disabilities, without the exclusion of a specific one groups).
- Promoting French or francophone expertise, as well as the participation of French experts, will not be decisive condition for selection of projects, but will have significance in the assessment of the proposed projects.
Funding Information
- These subsidies are intended to finance local micro-projects; Allocated amounts will be from 500 to 1,500 euros.
- The subsidy is paid out in two parts, by bank transfer to the bank account of the organization: 80% when signing a grant decision, 20% after receiving technical and financial reports, as well as a copy of all evidence of payment and invoices.
- The project owner is obliged to look for other sources of co-financing.
- The grant is granted for the current calendar year.
- It will be necessary to submit to the Department of Cooperation of the French Embassy in Serbia a copy of the evidence on costs or funds received (invoices, proof of payment or grant of subsidy).
Eligibility Criteria
- Associations based in Serbia. Project holders must have their headquarters in the territory Serbia and be officially registered.
- Subject of the project:
- Activities aimed at raising awareness and better awareness of one of the above topics.
- Activities related to training/evaluation and capacity building of actors at the local level in relation to one of the above topics.
- Valorization projects of one of the identified topics: videos, competitions, visits to the local level, posters.
Selection Criteria
- In addition to meeting the conditions of the competition, the following selection criteria will be systematically respected (objectives projects should be clearly visible in the application file).
- Projects should show consistency between the proposed project and the priorities of French diplomacy in the domain of equality between women and men and the fight against discrimination against people living with HIV- LGBTI people and/or handicapped persons.
- Special attention will be paid to:
- clear identification of needs
- Implementation of the project at the local community level
- sustainability and longevity of the project
- establishing quantitative and qualitative indicators for evaluation
- the innovative character of the project
- working in partnership with partners and pooling resources.
