As part of their ongoing mandate to invest in and support local community initiatives throughout Trinidad and Tobago, the Digicel Foundation has announced a Call for Applications as a part of the EPIC – Extraordinary Projects Impacting Communities grant initiatives.
EPIC aims to deliver a series of small scale community-based projects that have the potential to enhance indoor and outdoor spaces and contribute toward the development of communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
The ‘Call for Applications’ is being extended to all registered Community Based Organizations, Faith Based Organizations and other Non-Profit Organizations to implement small scale projects that can be completed within 6 to 8 weeks.
EPIC was launched in 2016. To date, with an investment of over TT$2.6 million, there have been 80 successful EPIC projects impacting 31.759 persons throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
The Digicel Trinidad and Tobago Foundation is a non-profit Organization that was formally established in july 2012. With a focus on community development and advancement of persons with special needs, their mandate is to partner with implementing agencies, provide funding for developmental projects and to become directly involved in the execution of each project.
The grant will focus on innovative projects like computer labs, youth friendly spaces, community parks, community gardens, youth centres, minor upgrades to community sporting facilities, environmental projects and libraries.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant funding for each project is TT$35,000 therefore, projects must fall within the stated budget.
- TT$35,000 grant to implement community projects:
- Refurbishment of indoor/outdoor spaces;
- Technology;
- Environment
It is recommended that applicants endeavour to collaborate with other non- profit groups, public or private sector entities, to guarantee community buy-in and sustainability.
