The grant competition “Strengthening social cohesion in the target communities of Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Luhansk regions” is administered by ISAR Unity for funding the UN Peacebuilding and Peacebuilding Program.
This grant competition aims to support project initiatives to apply a community-based approach to improve social cohesion. Organizations with registration in the Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Luhansk regions (territories controlled by the Government of Ukraine) are allowed to participate in the competition. NGOs must apply for project implementation in the area in which these NGOs are registered and have statutory activities.
Funding from the grant competition will be supported by the European Union and the governments of Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland.
Priorities
The Program activities are grouped by such key components of the Program that reflect the priority needs of the region:
- Component I: Economic Recovery and Critical Reconstruction infrastructure;
- Component II: Effective Local Government and Reform with decentralization of power;
- Component III: Public safety and social cohesion
Targeted Communities
Projects that will be implemented at the expense of this grant competition must be implemented in the target communities, namely:
- 16 target communities of Donetsk region:
- future Dobropilska OTG, future Druzhkivska OTG, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Slovyansk, Siverska OTG, Soledarska OTG, Novhorodske, Svitlodarsk, Mangushskyi district, future Volnovaska OTG, Vugledarska OTG, future Sartanka , Avdiivka.
- 9 target communities of Zaporizhia region:
- Berdyansk, communities of Berdyansk district, Melitopol, communities of Melitopol district (Novenskaya OTG, Semenovskaya OTG), Azov OTG, Primorska OTG, Kyrylivska OTG, Yakymivska OTG.
- 16 target communities of Luhansk region:
- Lozno-Oleksandrivska OTG, Privolskaya OTG, Trinity OTG, Nizhnoduvanska OTG, Belovodskaya OTG, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Kreminna, Krasnorechenska OTG, Milovskiy, Stanichno-Luhansk, Zoobodar, Zooboidar
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount for projects that do not involve development investment infrastructure – 81,000 hryvnias;
- The maximum grant amount for projects that do not involve development investment infrastructure, but covering 3 or more target communities – UAH 121,500;
- Maximum grant amount for projects with an infrastructure component of 162,000 hryvnias only for the following communities:
- Luhansk region: Zolote, Trokhizbenka, Popasna, Stanitsa Luhanska and communities Stanychno-Luhansk district, Shchastya village, Raigorodka village, Muratove village, Grechishkin Novoaidar district;
- Donetsk region: Svitlodarsk, future Sartan OTG, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Novhorodske, Avdiivka.
Duration
The proposed implementation period of project proposals may be up to 6 months. Projects that will receive funding under this grant competition, should start on June 15, 2020 and end by November 15, 2020 Year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Public or charitable organizations that will submit project proposals for this the competition must meet the following requirements:
- To be officially registered with the status of a legal entity on the territory of Donetsk, The Zaporizhzhya or Luhansk regions within the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine;
- have non-profit status (only non-profit codes 0032, 0034, 0036, 0038,0039 or 0048);
- have appropriate specialists and project staff for its implementation (project manager, financial specialist / accountant and other professionals as required by the project). in case the involvement of specialists is foreseen only with the support project proposal, the descriptive application must contain the key requirements that will be nominated to each of the specialists provided by the project (specialized education, work experience, etc.).
- Priority will be given to organizations with no experience or little experience implementation of projects. Organizations with more experience are admitted to the competition, however, their applications will be supported unless a sufficient number is received applications from less experienced organizations.
- In this direction the organizations with registration in Donetsk are admitted to competition, Zaporizhzhya and Luhansk regions (territories controlled by the Government of Ukraine). Public organizations must submit grant applications for projects in the area in which they are public organizations are registered and carry out statutory activities. Organizations with legal registration in the target communities of the competition will be provided additional an advantage in support.
- Organizations that currently have a direct grant agreement with the component “Public Safety and social cohesion “of the United Nations Program for Reconstruction and Peacebuilding (which administered by UNDP) or an agreement with ISAR United with the support of the UNDP Restoration and peacebuilding can participate in this competition if projects for agreements will be implemented no later than July 31, 2020, but their applications will be supported provided that not enough applications are received from other organizations.
- An organization may submit any number of applications for competitions announced by ISAR Unity at within the framework of the UN Peacebuilding and Peacebuilding Program in one or different areas, however, only one application can be supported, which will score the most points during the review Competition commission.
