The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in partnership with the UNDP are launching this call for proposals to Capacity building of small farmers in Benin to improve their cultivation and / or yield through digital.
The project seeks to counter the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, which has caused a worsening of the vulnerability of small urban and rural businesses, varying acuity and exasperation of their situation, especially in border communities.
Objectives
The objective of this call for proposals is to select training and capacity building institutions for small farmers (especially women and young people) who offer their training with digital media. Institutions must be registered and operating in Benin.
The work expected from the selected partners will cover the following aspects:
- Identify the specific training needs of smallholder farmers, especially women and youth.
- Mobilize, adapt or develop existing training curricula to the specific needs of the targets selected.
- Offers digital media and channels for the appropriate deployment of said training curricula.
- Provide training with the digital media developed.
- Post-training follow-up of trained beneficiaries.
Funding Information
- Maximum amount of the allowance: 92,000 US Dollars.
Eligibility Criteria
The tenderer must:
- be legally constituted in Benin.
- Have at least two (2) years of activity.
- Have audited financial statements for at least one year.
- be in good standing with the legal obligations in force in Benin in terms of payment of taxes.
- Have already strengthened the capacities of similar groups on the basis of training curricula suitable training.
- Have sufficient financial, human, IT and logistical resources and adequate to carry out all planned activities.
- Have experience as a digital capacity building channel actors.
- Have a post-training follow-up strategy that integrates target beneficiaries to Reinforce the effect of training activities.
- Commit to monitor and evaluate results and be ready to share information and lessons learned.
- The tenderer must already be present in the partner municipalities of R2R (Aplahoué, Avrankou, Bassila, Boukoumbé, Glazoué, Grand Popo, Kalalé, Kétou, Nikki et zagnanado) and / or have a plan for expanding its coverage to ensure the proximity to direct beneficiaries.
