Help For Children grants are currently seeking applications from the charitable organizations that address child abuse through prevention or treatment. These grants provide support to ongoing program services, to programs looking to expand, and to new programs/projects. Time-limited projects are also funded, such as the writing of a sexual abuse prevention workbook.
Impact Areas
Help For Children/Hedge Funds Care (HFC) grants are awarded to charitable organizations in four impact areas that address child abuse and through four practice areas described below.
- Decreasing Risk
- Educating children to heighten awareness of what abuse is and how to avoid it; educating adults on how to recognize signs of abuse in children.
- Reducing Trauma
- Counseling sexually and physically abused children & youth to allow for healing.
- Building Individual Strengths
- Supporting abused youth in building resilience and coping skills to prepare for a successful and stable adulthood.
- Strengthening Families
- Linking at-risk families to community support services and addressing issues of domestic violence, mental illness, homelessness and substance abuse to prevent child abuse.
Practice Areas
- Direct Services: Counseling, group work, home visits, mentoring, coaching and case management
- Education: Education programs for children, parents and communities as well as professional development/training for practitioners
- Advocacy: Public Services announcements and digital/print projects
- Research: Qualitative and quantitative research on child abuse issues
Eligibility Criteria
- The funds raised at each HFC benefit are used to support eligible non-profits who are providing services in the area where the event was held.
- HFC will fund organizations in Hong Kong.
