The Young Futures has launched the Here Comes The Fun funding challenge in partnership with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop, with support from Niantic.
This challenge will uplift and scale solutions that design, build, and facilitate play that meets pre-teens and teens where they are to enhance wellbeing outcomes across digital experiences.
Funding Information
- Young Futures anticipates awarding up to ten organizations, one-year grants ranging in size from $25,000 to $100,00; a total of up to $1M.
- Award amounts will vary based on scope.
- The grant term will be October 2025–September 2026.
Eligible Projects
- They are looking for creative solutions that promote the wellbeing of pre-teens and teens through playful digital experiences. Eligible projects should support the Four Freedoms of Play, align with the RITEC framework for child wellbeing, and be co-designed with or meaningfully informed by young people. This could include video games, creative coding tools, virtual reality experiences, multiplayer digital environments, and more.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and fiscally sponsored projects with 501(c)(3) status.
- Collaborative proposals are welcomed. For example, a nonprofit with a partnership with another nonprofit or other entity is eligible to apply.
- Prior applicants (with the exception of current Young Futures grant recipients with an active grant term) are eligible to apply to this funding challenge.
