The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society Asia Conservation Fund 2023 – 2024 is now open for applications.
The purpose of “Hong Kong Bird Watching Society Asia Conservation Fund” is to fund related research, monitoring, education and capacity building projects aimed at the conservation of birds in Asia, which have direct or indirect impact on birds in Hong Kong, or help related countries or regions Action plans or conservation projects to achieve the Aichi Biodiversity Targets will be given priority. All funds for this fund come from donations from members and supporters of the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society.
Priorities
HKBWS Asia Conservation Fund supports research, monitoring, education and capacity building for bird conservation in the region, with a higher priority given to:
- projects that target species that occur in Hong Kong or on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway; and
- projects that assist the relevant country in meeting Aichi Biodiversity Targets and implementing its action plan. Funds are donations from members and supporters of the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society.
Funding Information
- The maximum funding amount for each project is US $2,000, which is approved by the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society Asia Conservation Fund Committee.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registered organizations, especially non-governmental and non-profit organizations that can legally operate in their relevant country or the project area, can apply for this fund. They only accept one application from each organization per year.
