The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL) together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is currently seeking expressions of interest for it’s the Latin American Education Initiative (IEAL) to support the study of legislation regulating civil society in universities and law schools in eligible countries in this region.
Through this initiative, grants will be provided to support the creation or improvement of an education program on civil society law.
Grants Available
The amount of grants to be provided is in the range of $ 5,000- $ 10,000, but will also be considered reasonable proposals for a level of funding beyond this range.
Eligibility Criteria
The IEAL is open to any teacher, academic and / or institution that is located in: Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following factors:
- Compliance with eligibility requirements and implementation procedures;
- Demonstrated commitment of the applicant to promote the study of civil society law;
- Quality of the proposed project, including proposal innovation, proposed methodology / design, feasibility of the project (eg activities are aimed at achieving proposed results and expected results are realistic and achievable);
- Likelihood that the proposed project will contribute to advancing the study of civil society law in Latin America or in a specific country within the region;
- Sustainability of the proposed project beyond the grant period;
- Proposed budget and value for money;
- Inclusion of reasonable indicators to measure the success of the project.
