The Australian Government has launched the Indigenous Languages and Arts’s Open Competitive Grant Program to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to express, conserve and sustain their cultures through languages and arts activities around Australia.
The ILA program supports community-led organisations with grant funding administered through an annual competitive grant opportunity.
Funding Information
- The ILA program will invest over $37 million in 2024–25 for Indigenous languages and arts projects.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organisations that support participation in, and maintenance of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through community-led Indigenous languages and arts activities.
Ineligibility Criteria
- ILA does not support auspicing funding arrangements.
- ILA funding is provided for community led projects and, as such, individuals/sole traders are not eligible.
- State or Territory Governments, including portfolio agencies are not eligible to apply. This includes state departments of education (including schools).
- An unincorporated association is not a separate legal entity from its members and cannot enter into contracts in its own name.
