The Innovation Fund (hereinafter: the Fund) offers financial support for innovative projects aimed at solving the problems caused by the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic . Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises with already developed prototypes, products, services and technologies can scale up and can be scaled up over a short period of time and become available for use in counteracting the effects of a pandemic.
The objective of this public call is the rapid and effective support of innovative projects to address the health and well-being of the population, which can be scaled up over a short period of time and available for use in counteracting the effects of a pandemic.
Considering the urgency of the public call, as well as the large number of incoming applications, the Fund makes every effort to carry out the public call as efficiently as possible. Despite the introduction of a specific mode of operation in all institutions, the Fund provides support to all interested applicants on a daily basis in order to support as many relevant innovative projects as possible.
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of funding under this public call is 6 million dinars per individual project, but the co-financing by the Fund cannot cover more than 85% of the total project costs. The obligatory 15% co-financing by the applicant must be secured from private sources (own funds, loans, investments and the like).
- State aid rules apply to funds received by a grant beneficiary from the Fund through this public invitation in accordance with the Fund’s Rules on State Aid Rules.
- Funding approved by the Fund is based on the specific needs of each individual project, as presented by the applicant through the application. However, prior to approving the financing of an innovative project, the Fund’s independent panel of experts reserves the right to amend or adjust the proposed budget in accordance with the rules and requirements of the call.
Eligible Project
- Innovative projects that offer solutions to the shortcomings and health and wellbeing problems of the coronavirus pandemic and emergency. In addition to solutions in the field of public health, the Fund will also consider solutions in the field of communication, detection and protection, social media, supply chains, finance and the like, which address the problem described.
- Projects funded in this call for proposals may take up to 30 days to complete. In the case of specific developments, the Fund may approve the extension of project activities without the approval of additional funds.
Eligibility Criteria
Micro, small and medium-sized companies are registered in Serbia, in accordance with the applicable Companies Act and the applicable Accounting Law.
Evaluation Criteria
- The final decision on financing is made by an independent Expert Committee of the Fund.
- All applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- The relevance of the proposed solution to the problem defined in the application;
- Applicability and effects of the proposed solution in a short period of time;
- Project implementation methodology;
- The ability of the company to successfully complete the project and in a short period of time to bring the product or service to application (capacity of the company and partner networks).
- If necessary, the Independent Expert Panel may request the applicant for additional information regarding the proposed solution.
- Applications are evaluated in chronological order upon arrival.
