The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking proposals for its program entitled “Promoting Youth Engagement”.
IOM seeks applications from training Institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of different types of activities (Trainings, counselling, social, cultural and recreational activities, peace building, etc) for the benefit of a group of male and female youth in Southern Libya including Qatroun and Sabha (jointly or separately).
IOM supports trainings and initiatives that focus on promoting Youth engagement in an effort to initiate dialogue with marginalized youth from host community as well as IDPs and migrants.
Objectives
IOM will accept project proposals that address the overall program priority of promoting youth engagement, with the following specific objectives:
- Building a sense of self-esteem and belonging among the youth population.
- Create a space for peaceful dialogue and trust-building.
- Building youth capacity to promote common values of peaceful coexistence among local youth groups and others seeking shelter and safety among them.
- Strengthening youth engagement in the public sphere and active civic participation.
Responsibilities
- Develop a project proposal idea (either curriculum of the training / or concept note for activities) reflecting the required training subjects/ activities.
- Provide a detailed work plan of the training sessions / schedule of activities, with clear identification of tasks between the trainers/facilitators, if applicable.
- Provide IOM with an evaluation of the participants, highlighting their potential capacities and competences to become “Peace Ambassadors” in their communities.
- Commit and deliver all activities/ trainings, subject to the changing security situation in each of Sabha and Qatroun, within agreed timeframe with IOM.
Eligibility Criteria
- The interested applicants should have the following:
- Proven experience in providing similar trainings or conducting similar activities for youth groups in Libya.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and respect of diversity.
- Excellent training, organizational and communication skills as well as leadership skills within the NGO.
- Providing CVs of the staff who will be implementing the project, clearly showing their relevant professional experiences to the planned activities if applicable.
- Ability to perform under high pressure and according to time sensitive schedule, and the flexibility to apply modifications given the rapidly changing context in South Libya.
- Ability to work in Sabha and Qatroun.
- Any Libyan Civil Society Organization, or Training Institution may apply, which is:
- Non-Profit
- Registered at the Libyan Ministry of Culture or the High Commission of Civil Society or any other relevant Libyan official entity
How to Apply
- Proposals should only be in English and activities/trainings shall be in Arabic, and must include the following:
- Narrative proposal, presenting the organization’s background and experience in similar activities/trainings, including the activities final report, year of conduct, name of donor if applicable
- A detailed work plan, clearly presenting the activity action plan in accordance with the number of the required days, number of targeted beneficiaries from both genders, and including the subjects and activity types which will be addressed in each day
- The work plan should also highlight any practical exercises that the participants will be doing.
- If there are implementing partners, please clearly indicate them and their role in the work plan
- A list of trainers/facilitators who will be engaged in the training or the activities, including their previous experience in similar activities, and copies of their CVs in English must be attached to the proposal if applicable.
- If the proposed project is a training, then the training material that would be provided to participants, in Arabic, must be attached to the proposal, and must be relevant to the subjects of the training/activity work plan if applicable
- Clear implementation methodology of the proposed activities.
- Proposals must be submitted via email at the address given on the website.
