The Japan Foundation Asia Center is accepting applications for its three programs in order to develop the sense of kinship and coexistence as neighboring inhabitants of Asia. The programs are:
- Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration
- Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange
- The Asia Center Fellowship Program
Programs Description
- Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange: This program is designed to expand the bases for exchange and to promote understanding and friendship among the people of Asia. Grants will be provided to cover a portion of the expenses incurred for implementing exchange projects at grassroots or regional levels.
- Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration: This program is designed to foster awareness of empathy and coexistence among the people of Asia, including Japan, through collaboration. Grants are provided to cover a portion of the expenses incurred by organizations (and its individual collaborators) specializing in the fields of arts and culture, sports, or intellectual exchange in Asia that plan to conduct collaborative projects and to disseminate their achievements to a wider audience.
- The Asia Center Fellowship Program: This fellowship program is designed to enhance joint or cooperative projects in a wide variety of fields including arts and culture, sports, academic studies, and intellectual exchange in the Asian regions. The fellowships will be provided to successful individuals who plan to carry out research and form networks/platforms in their field(s) of expertise outside their home countries.
Grant Information
- Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange: Maximum 1.5 million JPY.
- Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration: Maximum 10 million JPY.
- The Asia Center Fellowship Program: Grant Coverage Stipend and Round-trip International Airfare (discount economy class).
Eligibility Criteria
- Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange
- Organizations based in Japan are eligible.
- Grants programs offered by the Japan Foundation’s overseas offices are available for applicants from ASEAN countries. Please contact the Japan Foundation’s offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia
- Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration
- Organizations based in ten ASEAN countries or Japan.
- The Asia Center Fellowship Program
- Residents of Japan or one of the ten ASEAN countries, and who holds a nationality, citizenship, or permanent residency of Japan or one of the ten ASEAN countries.
