The Joint Gender Fund (JGF) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for “Provision of Capacity Enhancement Activities To Community Based Organisation Partners ” in order to to enhance leadership and provide funding for innovative programmes that address the drivers of violence against women and girls in South Africa in ways that respond to and transform the underlying causes.
This call seeks applications from established non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide capacity support to CBOs in Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga provinces with a view to enhancing learning, strengthening programming and broadening reach.
Funding Information
- Will vary but will not exceed R100,000.00 per year.
- A maximum period of two years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations must:
- Be a registered South African Non-profit Organization
- Have demonstrated work with CBOs though training, capacity building, twinning or any other interventions
- Have adequate financial and management systems
- Have a good governance structure
- Have strong women’s leadership, participation and empowerment
- Demonstrate alignment with the overall strategy of the JGF
- Have a vision for transforming unequal gender power relations
- NGO applicants must:
- Engage and or have engaged in the past with CBOs as part of their practice;
- Demonstrate successful training/mentoring/capacity enhancement support to at least one CBO (e.g. fundraising, skills development, etc.);
- Have an office, existing presence or existing project in the area of operation of the CBO;
- Demonstrate a willingness and commitment in working with CBOs to improve their GBV responses and programming.
- Demonstrate expertise in GBV and women’s rights programming
