The Community of Sant’Egidio (KSE), CDCC (Centre for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations) of Muhammadiyah Indonesia that is supported by Pharos Observatory is seeking proposals for its Support for Indonesian Pluralism Defenders Towards Positive Peace program.
Program Purpose
- Reduce stigmatization: Promotion of public seminars and talk shows, with participation of minority representatives (women, children, religious minorities, migrants, internally displaced people, homeless) to raise mutual respect and awareness to live in tolerance.
- Promotion of social inclusion: providing assistance to children from poor families, and young people as future generations, to gain the rights to education and protection, and to be able to get out of stigma and social violence.
- Encouraging and promote interfaith cooperation: develop cooperation between organizations and communities of different religious background, in common actions, also publishing news and cooperative efforts through publicly accessible media, as part of the promotion of peace and harmony.
Objectives
- Providing assistance to communities, organizations and elements of civil society, to enhance their capacity to gain a voice, right, protection in law, social, culture and education.
- Strengthening awareness of organizations and individuals, to find out solutions of social problems that occur in society, especially grassroots communities. Such as poverty, discrimination against minorities.
- Empowering associations who can show a remarkable ability in enhancing interfaith and interethnic cooperation in the field of promoting pluralism, peace education, human rights protection with particular attention to young generations.
- Organizing them in a network that can become a permanent resource of pluralism for Indonesian society.
Funding Information
- The amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 25 000.00.
- Indicative allocation of funds by lot:
- Lot 1: Reduce stigmatization: EUR 8 000.00
- Lot 2: Promotion of social inclusion: EUR 8 000.00
- Lot 3: Encourage and promote interfaith cooperation: EUR 9 000.00
- Size of grants
- Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Average amount of EUR 7-8.000 for 3 partner institutions and target groups, or EUR 5.000 for 5 partner institutions (depending on relevance and eligibility of incoming proposals).
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible proposals must:
- Be led by Human Rights Defenders organizations and charities organizations;
- Ensure being carried out at least by two or more organizations or activists, if possible from different religious/ethnic groups;
- Be based on multiple partnerships.
- Has certificates from professional institutions, especially in term of assistance.
