The Greater Western Water has launched its Local Community Sponsorships Program to provide up to $5,000 for local community-based activities that support equity, opportunity and inclusivity and help diverse community groups to thrive.
Funding Information
Applicants can apply for a local community sponsorship of up to $5,000. Projects or initiatives funded through local community sponsorships must be delivered between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.
What types of projects will GWW support?
They will consider a range of projects that meet the selection criteria. Examples of projects they are seeking to support include those that:
- Provide opportunities for the community to gather and celebrate, such as local community festivals.
- Are led by the diverse communities, including First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Support the sustainable use of water, increase tree canopy and green open spaces, such as tree plantings.
What can the sponsorship be used for?
Some examples of activities and items that they will fund include, but are not limited to:
- Program coordination and facilitation.
- Purchase of materials for events and activities.
- Marketing materials.
- Skills development, training and workshops.
- Venue hire, including furniture hire/purchase.
- Project evaluation.
Eligibility Criteria
They welcome applications from organisations that:
- Are based in GWW’s service area.
- Are an incorporated, not-for-profit organisation or can prove an auspice arrangement with an appropriate organization.
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and Australian bank account.
- Have public liability insurance (PLI).
- Demonstrate that the project can be delivered within grant timelines.
