The Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) and Sidney Myer Fund (SMF) are pleased to announce their next large grant round to a total value of $20,000 with a focus on supporting sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) refugees and people seeking asylum.
Areas of Interests
Projects should aim to support sexuality, sex and gender diverse (LGBTQIA+) people who are refugees or seeking asylum in at least one of the following areas:
- Improving access to stable housing,
- Enhancing education and/or workforce participation,
- Enhancing support for community connection and improving settlement outcomes,
- Improving health and/or health literacy,
- Supporting links to LGBTQIA+ services and supports,
- Enhancing cultural engagement and development,
- Improving LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice in services.
Funding Information
- Grant applications should be to the value of up to $20,000 over two years.
Eligible Projects
Types of projects with a duration of up to two years may include any of the following:
- Community development, or
- Education and training initiatives, or
- Health and wellbeing initiatives, or
- Applied, community-led research with tangible outcomes in the field, or
- Events including arts and cultural or conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
The following general criteria must be met when applying for funds:
- The activity seeking funding must be either solely or chiefly focused on the good and betterment of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex people and allied communities in Australia.
- All grant applications have to meet the funding priorities as set from time to time by the Foundation.
Exclusions
The following activities will not be funded:
- Capital and building works, vehicles, furniture or equipment,
- General fundraising,
- Travel, books, religious activities.
