Deadline: 30 August 2019
The EU-funded MedFilm4all project has launched a special call for proposals to widen the audience and the access to films tackling sensitive issues, in particular gender.
The specific objective is to increase the production, the diffusion and accessibility of audio-visual productions promoting social and gender issues and to improve the exchange and network between civil society organisations and film industry actors.
In this framework, the objective of this call for applicants is to support projects addressing weaknesses and issues related to access to films tacking social and gender issues in rural/remote areas, refugee camps, cultural and youth centers, universities, public space and enhancing debates around social and gender stereotypes.
The beneficiaries of the grants should focus on improving gender equality especially of those women living in rural/remote areas (and not only), by developing the audience and the debates around films tackling social and gender issues. Selected projects will contribute to mitigate stereotypes relating to the image of women in Arab societies, with the ultimate goal of influencing widespread cultural attitudes and promoting an inclusive and equal human development in the target societies. Further to this, applicants could also include activities specifically related to empowering women professionals in the film industry, therefore enhancing job opportunities.
