The Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to offer funding for Minor and Major Event Grant Program which support and contribute economically, socially and culturally through participation and visitation to the community and improve the attractiveness and liveability of Greater Shepparton.
The intention of the funding is to facilitate events which will increase and enhance community spirit, participation, inclusion and wellbeing.
Categories
- This can be achieved via the following categories:
- Sporting events.
- Arts and cultural events which celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage of the region such as:
- indigenous events;
- art and music events; and
- multicultural and food-based events.
- Business events and conferences.
- Community events and festivals.
Funding Information
- There are two funding streams available:
- Minor Funding Stream: from $500 up to $2,000
- Major Funding Stream: from $2,000 up to $5,000
Program Objectives
- The objectives of these grants are to:
- Promote Greater Shepparton’s lifestyle and visitor economy, recognising the region as an attractive place to visit, live and invest.
- Support a diverse and inclusive annual calendar of events.
- Generate economic impact through visitation, increased spend for the region businesses and supporting key industries.
- Support event growth and long-term sustainability.
- Recognise local talent, and artistic and cultural strengths.
- Celebrates communities.
Funding Information
- Round 2 for the 2024/2025 Financial Year has a total funding pool of approximately $43,000
- Major Event Category: Funding from $2,000 up to $5,000 for larger scale events that attract no less than 350 attendees.
- Minor Event Category: Provides funding from $500 up to $2,000 for smaller scale events that attract up to 350 attendees for a single day event and contributes to positive community participation, connection and wellbeing.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants’ activities must be primarily based in Greater Shepparton.
- They can apply:
- Not-for-profits, incorporated bodies, co-operatives or associations
- Registered charitable organisations (refer to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
- Unincorporated bodies with an auspice
- Schools and learning institutions – only for activities that are not curriculum based and the primary benefit is for the wider community
- Applicants that have received funding from this grant in the current financial year that are applying for more than one activity
Ineligibility Criteria
- Individuals without an ABN
- Individual/Sole Traders (entity type with Australian Business Register)
- For profits, commercial entities, registered businesses
- Applicants with outstanding acquittals for grant funding from Greater Shepparton City Council (including auspices)
- Applicants with outstanding debts or arrears to Greater Shepparton City Council or in legal proceedings with Council
