The Malaysian Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation (MPOGCF) is now accepting applications for its MyMAMPAN Research Grant Scheme (Phase 1).
MyMAMPAN is aimed at funding and supporting any research that helps the Malaysian palm oil industry with its conservation efforts, in areas of biodiversity, environment and wildlife.
Priority Areas of Research
(Evaluation for this research grant application is based on the Research Domain).
- Research Domain (Research Domain)
- The research to be carried out must be closely related to the Malaysian oil palm industry. Each application must meet one (1) of the six (6) Research Domains as follows:-
- Conservation (Conservation);
- Sustainability (Sustainability);
- Environment and Biodiversity;
- Plantation (Plantation);
- Wild Life (Wildlife); or
- Forestry.
- The research to be carried out must be closely related to the Malaysian oil palm industry. Each application must meet one (1) of the six (6) Research Domains as follows:-
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals)
- Each application must meet one (1) of the 3 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as follows:-
- SDG 13 – Climate Action;
- SDG 14 – Life below Water;
- SDG 15 – Life on Land;
- Each application must meet one (1) of the 3 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as follows:-
- Impact of Research Projects on the National Oil Palm Industry
- Projects carried out must directly benefit the Malaysian oil palm industry by meeting the following criteria :
- Related to the National Agricommodity Sustainability agenda; (b) Positive impact on biodiversity;
- Effectiveness of project implementation; and
- Sustainability of the project.

Eligible Expenses
Allocations for MyMAMPAN grants are allowed for any purchases, payments or acquisitions that meet the following expenditure codes:
- 924-017-01 – Allowance for Graduate Research Assistants (GRA)
- Allowance to fund Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) full-time research mode only. The allowance ceiling does not exceed RM2,500.00 for Ph.D students and RM2,000.00 for Masters students.
- 924-017-02 – Allowance for Research Assistants (Other than GRA)
- Allowance to fund Research Assistants for Agencies, NGOs and Private Companies. The allowance ceiling does not exceed RM2,000.
- 924-017-03 – Allowance for Field Assistants (FA)
- Allowance to finance Field Assistants (FA) who are assigned to obtain data in the field. The allowance ceiling does not exceed RM1,800.
Eligibility Criteria
This grant is open to academic staff (Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers and Lecturers), Government Agencies, NGOs and Private companies with the following conditions:-
- Permanent/contract level Research Leaders must have at least one (1) Malaysian citizen co-researcher with permanent status in the same field of expertise and from the same Institution/Agency as the Next Appointed Leader.
- The head researcher must have carried out a research project. The principal researcher from the University / Agency must have published at least two (2) journal articles and must send the journal abstract to MPOGCF.
- Research and talent production must be done in the country.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to collaborate with relevant Industry/Agencies to implement the research project (document evidence is at least a letter of intent and other related documents).
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit patent search evidence for each project application.
- Applicants are required to identify and submit a plan for risk management (risk assessment) for each project application.
