Deadline: 4-Jul-25
A new initiative is calling on youth-led and youth-serving organizations across select EU countries to participate in a digital democracy project focused on empowering young Europeans in media, journalism, and civic storytelling. The project is centered around engaging youth between the ages of 18 and 25, particularly those with interests in politics, journalism, multimedia, and freelance or entrepreneurial careers in media.
The project aims to build the capacity of young people to share their perspectives on European issues through creative content, advocacy, and digital storytelling. Through a collaborative hub and dedicated training events, participants will gain skills in media literacy, digital activism, content production, and responsible journalism. This initiative is especially designed to include underrepresented youth and promote inclusion and diversity in media.
Organizations selected for funding will organize outreach campaigns and host youth events, including in-person and online workshops. In Slovenia, at least 200 young people will be recruited, and 100 will attend a full-day, in-person training event in Ljubljana. An additional group will participate online, expanding national reach and inclusion. These workshops will equip participants with media and advocacy skills, enabling them to contribute to the central Pulse Z content hub and related social media platforms.
After the initial training phase, 60 youth participants will be paired with experienced youth mentors for content development. This mentorship will result in the production of high-quality digital materials, including videos, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes stories. Youth will also lead three advocacy and visibility actions, including a public media event in Ljubljana where they will showcase their content to journalists, EU representatives, and national stakeholders.
The total funding available for this opportunity is EUR 84,000, with up to EUR 14,000 awarded per grant. A minimum of six grants will be awarded across eligible EU Member States, and co-financing from other sources is encouraged. All funded activities must be conducted between July and mid-October 2025, with youth events specifically taking place from 5th July to 15th October.
Eligible applicants must be legally registered organizations based in the participating EU countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, and Slovenia. Only youth-led or youth-serving organizations may apply, and proposals must demonstrate prior experience in delivering similar youth-focused events.
Applications must be submitted in English and include a detailed activity proposal, timeline, safeguarding measures, and information about the applying organization’s relevant background. Proposals will be evaluated based on clarity, alignment with objectives, previous experience, and cost-effectiveness.
This initiative offers an exciting platform for young people to gain hands-on experience in media and civic engagement while helping to shape digital democracy in Europe.
