The Auckland Council has launched the applications for Henderson-Massey Local Grant Programme.
Types of Grants

The Community Grants Policy has three main grant types:
- local grant programmes – each local board has now adopted a grants programme
- regional grant programmes
- multi-board grants: applicants can apply to three or more local boards for the same project. Applicants will need to apply to the local board with the earliest closing date.
These grant types support:
- arts
- events
- community
- sport and recreation
- environment
- heritage.
Funding Priorities

They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Neighbourhood centres foster a sense of identity and place.
- Arts, events and cultural activities reflect their many heritages.
- They enable innovation and enterprise.
- People know each other and feel connected in their neighbourhoods.
- Strong community organisations are making a difference.
- They embrace and value diversity and difference.
- Mana whenua and mataawaka rights are acknowledged and their needs and aspirations are widely known.
- People are more active.
- Their parks and recreation services provide a range of accessible experiences for their diverse community.
- Their community facilities are well-used and flexible in meeting community needs.
- People are central to maintaining their environment.
- The water quality of their streams and tidal areas is improving.
- Biodiversity is increasing.

- community connectedness and are inclusive
- events that are smokefree, minimise waste, and offer healthy food options.

They have identified the following services, projects and activities as lower priorities:
- Catering, unless providing food will help achieve the project outcomes.
- Events that charge a high admission fee.
- Fundraising events, unless there is local benefit.
- Travel, unless it benefits the community.

- Grant Value: $2000 – $5000.
