Funding Information
- The maximum grant award is $10,000. Most grant awards will be around $5000. Occasionally they will consider requests for multiple-year funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizing Grants are only available to organizations and projects that are based in the United States.
- They do fund newly-founded and existing organizations that are engaged in activist organizing. They prefer groups that don’t have much foundation funding or other traditional streams of income.
- They do fund 501c3s, groups with a 501c3 fiscal sponsor, and organizations with a bank account in their name.
- They do fund projects as well as general operating costs. They’re looking for creative and bold ideas that have a specific goal.
- They do fund projects and organizations dedicated to fighting for systemic change, rather than personal/individual support.
What they do not fund?
- They don’t fund individuals, or individual projects.
- They don’t fund direct services, healing or therapy work, or mutual aid that’s not a component of larger organizing.
- They don’t fund projects or organizations with operating budgets exceeding $250,000.
- They don’t fund lobbying or political campaigns.
- They don’t fund art, films, or dance projects that aren’t a component of organizing.
- They don’t fund tuition or scholarships.
- They don’t fund university supported projects.
