Do you have an idea that can help place the Nordics in the minds of the world? Then you should consider applying for a Nordic Talks grant.
Nordic Talks’ is the Nordic Council of Ministers’ concept for a global series of talks addressing current affairs that capture the essence of Nordic themes and issues.
A Nordic Talk is a branded concept that can help you strengthen your Nordic event. It can be held anywhere, anytime. It can also be held as a stand-alone or in connection to existing events like festivals and conferences.
The best talks will be edited into professional podcast episodes by The Nordic Council of Ministers.
In short, they are looking for new creative partnerships and projects with a high level of international PR potential. Projects that will help leverage strategy for the international branding and positioning of the Nordic Region – The Nordics.
They would like you to team up with other international and Nordic partners sharing the same idea, but even more importantly, would like you to use and be part of Nordic Talks concept.
Funding Information
You can apply for three different grants:
- Small Nordic Talk
- Grant amount: DKK 50.000,-
- The Small Nordic Talk grant is for you, who have an idea of a Nordic Talk that doesn’t necessarily need a big live audience. It could simply be two talkers and a moderator in dialogue on a rooftop bar with an audience of up to 30 people (if any). All Nordic Co-operation asks for is that the sound from the talk is recorded and sent to them – they’ll take care of the podcast production.
- Medium Nordic Talk
- Grant amount: DKK 100.000,-
- A Medium Nordic Talk can take many shapes. It could be the medium sized event with 2 x three talkers and a moderator on a stage in a university auditorium with audience of 100 people. It could be two or three consecutively Nordic Talks on the same day – or spread over two or more days. Or it could more simply be a number of Nordic Talks recorded in a studio. That’s up to you, but let them in on your ideas.
- The amount applied for may not constitute more than 50 per cent of your total project budget. A minimum of three partners is required, whereof at least 2 of those partners involved must come from different Nordic countries.
- Grant amount: DKK 100.000,-
- Large Nordic Talk
- Grant amount: DKK 195.000,-
- Applying for a Large Nordic Talk grant, means that you are have something special up your sleeve. A special venue, a line-up with a-list speakers or perhaps an idea for a series of Nordic Talks over a longer period of time – with or without audience. Apply and make them fall in love with your idea.
- The total budget for this open call is DKK 3 million.
Criteria
- Mandatory criteria needed to apply for Small grant:
- Nordic Talks is a part of the event/activity that is being applied for
- Emphasize the Nordic values and UN SDG’s, thereby supporting Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030
- A strong Nordic story
- Mandatory criteria needed to apply for Medium and Large grants:
- Nordic Talks is a part of the event/activity that is being applied for
- Emphasize the Nordic values and UN SDG’s, thereby supporting Nordic Council of Ministers’ Vision 2030
- A strong Nordic story
- Co-financing ratio (applies to Medium and Large grants)
- A minimum of three documented partners is required, whereof at least 2 of those partners involved must come from different Nordic countries (applies to Medium and Large grants)
- At least one Nordic embassy/diplomatic mission as a project partner (applies to Medium and Large grants)
- In addition, emphasis is placed on:
- Creativity and innovation
- Potential panelists for the Nordic Talk
- PR/branding potential
- Involvement of:
- Target groups
- Local partners
- Networks
Eligibility Criteria
Internal (within Nordic co-operation) and external organizations, Nordic diplomatic missions abroad, NGOs, universities, creative minds, networks and other companies worldwide.
