The U.S. Embassy in Albania is seeking applications for the Education USA initiative to help advance its mission goals of creating strong people-to-people connections between Albanians and Americans, as well as supporting economic growth and democratic values, such as transparency.
Education USA is the U.S. Department of State’s global network of over 430 educational advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories. Its advisers provide accurate, comprehensive, and current information about the full range of U.S. higher education opportunities, guiding prospective students to find the institution that best fits their needs.
Objectives
- The objectives are:
- Expand Student Advising Outreach:
- Facilitate the Adviser’s outreach across Albania through in-person advising, school visits, virtual sessions, and partnerships with organizations, schools and universities.
- Facilitate additional space for EducationUSA events, such as lectures, presentations, etc. at least once per month
- Ensure that the reference collection and services offered are publicized and that it is open to all those in the local community who are interested in learning about and pursuing higher education in the United States.
- Explore New Potential Partnerships: Support the establishment of partnerships with local schools, universities, and educational organizations to expand the reach of EducationUSA.
- Publicize the Advising Center: Increase awareness of the EducationUSA advising center through targeted marketing and outreach efforts.
- Strengthen Networking with Teachers and Career Counselors: Facilitate and maintain strong relationships with teachers and career counselors to facilitate student referrals and support.

Funding Information
- Grant amount: $18,000
- Duration: 12 months
Role and Responsibilities
- PAO Tirana will be involved in the following activities:
- Participating in the hiring process for the local adviser.
- Deciding on the programmatic specifics.
- Organizing public events.
Expected Outcomes
- Enhanced visibility and reputation of EducationUSA in Albania.
- Strengthened partnerships with local educational institutions and organizations.
- Improved support and resources for prospective students and their families.
- Smooth operation of the EducationUSA advising center, ensuring that the Host guarantees the maintenance of the building, security, safety, and opening hours to the public.
- Enhance day to day organization and coordination, resulting in an increased number of Albanian students applying to and enrolling in U.S. higher education institutions.
- Promote U.S. Higher Education and provide educational advising services and uphold the standards of its affiliation with the U.S. Department of State.

- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations.
