London Community Foundation is seeking applications for the NWDA Health Inequalities Community Fund for Lambeth.
The Neighbourhood Wellbeing Delivery Alliance (NWDA) Health Inequalities Community Fund is managed by The London Community Foundation and is open to proposals for work taking place in Lambeth.
Priority
- Priority will be given to projects which target:
- Applications must clearly be about reducing health inequality and should meet at least one of the following priorities:
- Encourage Lambeth residents to engage in health and wellbeing initiatives
- Target and improve the health and wellbeing of those with protected characteristics
- Support residents to access the wider range of health and wellbeing offers within the community (such as Grassroot Projects, Thriving Communities, Lambeth Together Health and Wellbeing Bus, Project Smith)
- Understand what residents feel is important for them for their own health and wellbeing,
- Engage with those communities who are most mistrustful of the health and social care sector
- Explore how residents would like health services to engage with them on areas such as screening, health checks, vaccination etc.
- Provide health and wellbeing advice and signpost to local services
Focus Areas
- They encourage all projects to include activities that focus on and support residents in healthy living, this could include elements from one or more of the following: –
- Importance of Blood pressure awareness and blood pressure management
- Healthy Weight
- Smoking reduction
- Alcohol awareness
- Good mental health
- Chronic pain support
- Cancer screening
- Vaccination confidence
- Social connection
- Or any other topic that addresses health inequalities
- Examples of the types of activities that funded projects might deliver include: –
- Webinar
- Workshop or hub
- Pop up event
- Conversation or learning sessions
- Walking or fitness group
- Advice sessions
- Surveys or focus groups
- Creative project
Funding Information
- The grants will be between £10,000 and £15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The fund is open to:
- Constituted community groups and resident groups
- Registered charities
- Companies limited by guarantee
- Community Interest Companies (CICs) Limited by guarantee
- Charitable Incorporated Organisations (C10s)
- Applicants must:
- Be based in, or support people living within London
- Have a management committee/board of directors/trustees of at least three unrelated people
- Have a signed constitution or other relevant governance document
- Have a bank account under the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories
- Have Annual Accounts or an Income and Expenditure Sheet for the post recent financial period
- Have a Safeguarding Policy dates reviewed within the past two years
