The European Commission (EC) has opened the call for Civil Society in support of Transparency and the Fight against Corruption in Honduras.
Objectives
- The overall objective of this call for proposals is to empower civil society organizations to actively engage in advocacy, oversight and decision-making processes that promote good governance, transparency and accountability, and strengthen the fight against corruption in public management at the municipal, departmental and national levels.
- The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
- Promote inclusive and gender-sensitive citizen participation and dialogue at the municipal level in the areas of transparency, accountability and the fight against corruption, particularly through the Citizen Transparency Commissions (CCT).
- Improve the social audit of public infrastructure projects, ensuring in particular: the inclusion of vulnerable population groups.
- Contribute to transparency and anti-corruption policies, as well as to reporting mechanisms citizen from comprehensive and inclusive acts of corruption.
Priorities
- The priorities of this call for proposals are:
- Actively integrate a human rights-based and gender-sensitive approach, ensuring the meaningful inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups in transparency, accountability and anti-corruption efforts.
- Actions implemented by consortia of applicants with a broad and active presence in the priority departments established in this call, with the capacity to generate a large-scale impact and effectively strengthen citizen participation mechanisms.
Funding Information
- The total indicative amount allocated to this call for proposals is EUR 2 950 000.
- The grants requested within this call for proposals will be between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- minimum amount: EUR 2,850,000
- maximum amount: 2 950 000 EUR
Duration
- The initial expected duration of an action may not be less than 36 months or more than 48 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal entity; and
- not be for profit; and
- be a non-governmental organization; and
- be effectively established in a Member State of the European Union, Honduras or any other admissible country in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations,
- be directly responsible, with their co-applicants and affiliated entities, for the preparation and management of the action and not simply act as intermediaries.
- Co-applicants will participate in the design and implementation of the action, and the costs they incur will be eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
