Deadline: 25-Jul-25
The CHABAHIVA Trust has announced an open call for funding applications from Nonprofit Organisations (NPOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) that are actively operating within South Africa. This opportunity is aimed at supporting impactful HIV/AIDS programs that contribute to long-term, sustainable community development.
This particular funding round is exclusively open to organizations based and working in the provinces of Gauteng, North West, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu Natal. All proposed initiatives must align with the Trust’s core mission to combat the HIV/AIDS crisis through evidence-based programming and organizational capacity strengthening.
The program specifically supports activities in HIV prevention and care. Priority areas include prevention and treatment programs focused on key populations, as well as initiatives led by community health workers working at the grassroots level.
Each selected organization may receive up to ZAR 250,000 in funding for a project duration of six months. The grant is intended to strengthen short-term impact while contributing to broader goals in public health and community wellness.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered NPOs in South Africa, preferably youth-led organizations involved in health and wellness initiatives. Organizations must be actively operating in one of the four eligible provinces and must have been established for between 2 to 5 years. A clear, time-bound program plan for the 6-month funding period is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing).
Applicants must submit several documents, including their latest annual report, audited financial statements, and management accounts for the period 01 July 2024 – 30 June 2025. Additional requirements include a valid NPO registration certificate, a valid tax clearance certificate, a list of directors (accompanied by a 2-page CV for each), and a copy of the organization’s constitution.
