Deadline: 31-Jan-21
People in Need is happy to present its first small grants scheme for communities in Serbia in the scope of the project Amplifying Local Voices for Equitable Development (ALVED). This grant scheme is supported by the UK Government’s Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF).
Recognizing the crucial role that grassroots civil society organisations (CSOs) and informal groups can play in acting as agents of change and advocating on behalf of members, this grant scheme is seeking to support local-level, community-based initiatives that help deal with the impact of Covid19 on local communities, whilst cutting across ethnic divisions.
In Serbia, this grant scheme is open to CSOs and informal groups to implement projects in the following local self-governments/municipalities in Serbia: Bujanovac, Lebane, Vranje. The project objective and results should target residents or other stakeholders located in those local self-government units.
Types of Initiatives
Building upon the specific objective of the grant scheme, the program is also looking to support initiatives that:
- Address gender inequality at the local level, especially new inequalities arising from Covid19;
- Alleviate Covid19-related hardship or challenges for certain groups affected by the pandemic;
- Work with local authorities to meet needs that they have not been able to address on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.
