Swansea Council via the Welsh Government is inviting applications for the Period Dignity in Communities Grant to ensure access to period products, free of charge and accessible in the most practical and dignified way possible.
Funding Information
- In total, there is £65,000 Period Dignity in Communities revenue funding available for Swansea. Each application will be assessed on its merits, however from previous numbers of organisation supported, they anticipate funding applications up to the value of around £2,000.
Fund Criteria
- Period products are to be made available to women, girls, and people who menstruate, prioritising those from low-income households, free of charge and accessible in the most practical and dignified way possible.
- Priority will be given to making period products available to under-served communities, including:
- Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities
- Gypsies, Roma and Travellers
- Asylum seekers and refugees
- Disabled people
- LGBTQ+ communities
- Victims of domestic abuse
- A minimum of 75% of period products purchased must be eco-friendly, i.e. reusable products and/or plastic free products: Eco-friendly period products
Eligibility Criteria
- Public bodies, charitable or voluntary organisations, those with charitable objectives and not-for-private-profit organisations.
