The Parkinson’s UK is seeking applications for Physical Activity Grants which aims to help more marginalised communities to deliver physical activity sessions for people living with Parkinson’s.
The grants will help more people with Parkinson’s from marginalised communities to get active and to engage in local physical activity classes.
Funding Information
- £3,000 in funding as part of their new grants pilot.
Eligibility Criteria
- To apply for a grant, you either need to work with or be a part of one of the marginalised communities and community groups. Or you work with the Parkinson’s community in any of the locations listed.
- Funding can be offered for exercise class provision, consultation with the Parkinson’s community and towards engagement events. Applicants can apply for up to 60% of their funding to contribute to physical activity sessions and 40% towards community engagement.
- Marginalised communities:
- Ethnic minority groups.
- Anyone with physical or learning disabilities.
- Low affluence areas and low socio-economic groups.
- Anyone from the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant communities.
- Anyone who identifies as a woman.
- Community groups and organisations:
- Community based not for profit organisations (including charities, CICs and constituted community groups, excluding Parkinson’s UK Local groups or branches).
- Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs).
- Community benefit societies and co-operatives.
