Endeavour Energy has launched the applications for the Powering Communities Grants Program.
Grant Themes
- Grants are open in the following categories
- Education
- Creating learning and development opportunities.
- E.g. provision of resources for schools, educational programs, programs that provide access to education.
- Health and wellbeing
- Programs that support the health and wellbeing of their community.
- E.g. community defibrillators, activities that support participation in sporting and wellness programs, health care packages.
- Environment
- Programs that help the community to participate in renewable energy and reduce their carbon footprint as they move towards net zero, or programs that improve or restore the local environment.
- E.g community gardens, community recycling and composting projects, landfill prevention programs, water tanks or programs that restore areas after a flood, fire or storm or help communities prepare for a weather event.
- Social Inclusion
- Programs that support inclusiveness, equity and diversity or increase energy literacy amongst the community.
- E.g. activities that support diverse or vulnerable communities, promote diversity and inclusiveness, programs that support cost of living pressures for customers.
- Education
Funding Information
- They are offering one off grants of $2,000 to $10,000 to support local projects, services and initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of their community, create community learning opportunities, improve or restore the local environment or support inclusiveness, equity and diversity within their community.
What happens next?
- All grants will be assessed against a criteria that considers the:
- Community impact and reach
- Community benefit
- Ability of the project to encourage social change
- The financial robustness of the program.
- The assessment will be undertaken by Endeavour Energy specialists from across the business. Shortlisted applicants will be reviewed by a third party to ensure legitimacy. All applicants will then be notified of the outcome of their application.
Eligibility Criteria
- Endeavour Energy’s Powering Communities grants program is open to incorporated not-for-profit organisations or registered charities, school or community groups with an Australian Business Number (ABN) or registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) who have a valuable grassroots initiative that deliver clear benefits for the community in the areas of education, health and wellbeing, environment, and social welfare.
- Projects need to meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a grant:
- Be delivered by incorporated not-for-profit organisations; registered charity; school or community group with an ABN or ACNC Registration and an Australian bank account; and
- Directly benefit communities located within Endeavour Energy’s network region; and
- Provide a positive benefit to the community in the area of education, health, environment and/ or social welfare; and
- The funding being sought must fully support the delivery of the project and not be directed to corporate administration; and
- Have a remaining unfunded portion; and
- Projects must be delivered between when the grant funding is received and by 30 June 2024.
- Endeavour Energy reserves the rights to consider projects that do not fall within the eligibility criteria or to impose additional eligibility criteria, where reasonability required.
- Successful applicants will be required to:
- Use the grant funding by 30 June 2024; and
- Acknowledge Endeavour Energy’s support publicly; and
- Use the grant funding on the agreed activities; and
- Assume all operational and commercial responsibility associated with the delivery of the project, including securing appropriate insurance cover.
- Endeavour Energy will not fund:
- Individuals, commercial businesses and government entities; or
- Activities outside of the Endeavour Energy network region; or
- Activities that have already been completed prior to the date of funding; or
- Organisations or programs that do not align to Endeavour Energy’s values; or
- Organisations or programs already funded by a Government body or other grants funding; or
- Programs that may have a negative impact on Endeavour Energy’s reputation; or
- Are dangerous, immoral or political in nature.
