Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development “PREDA Plus”, in cooperation with its German partner Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), are seeking applications to implement the project “Improving the Macedonian CSO’s active participation in decision-making process through the empowerment of grass-root CSO’s”, within the framework of the European Union’s Civil Society Facility and Media Program.
The project aims to strengthen networking and grass-root CSOs capacities ensuring them as accountable actors, specifically focusing on enabling legal and financial environment, cooperation between the Government and CSOs, CSOs’ effectiveness, transparency and accountability.
Goals
- To have a more dynamic civil society that actively participates in public debates with the capacity to influence policy-making and decision-making processes.
- To achieve greater commitment and capacity of CSOs in order to provide them with the right to vote and the possibility of influencing the processes of public sector reform through analysis, monitoring and advocacy.
Grant Information
- Total budget of the call is 246.000 MKD.
- Funding will be provided for maximum amount of MKD 246.000 per project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Small Grant Facility is open only to grass root CSOs in Macedonia, especially those who show initiative in active approach to policy making and advocacy during project implementation.
- Priority will also be given to joint initiatives between two or more CSOs. One organisation may be part of only one submission. Each of the organization can take part in maximum one project:
- as an applicant in project proposal or
- a co – applicant in project proposal.
- Civil Society Organisations fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Be legal non-profit making entity under the Law on Civil Associations and Foundations (specifically, Citizens’ Associations; Civil Society Organizations; Foundations; Professional Associations).
- CSO registered minimum 1 year before this SGF Call is announced;
- Have independent decision-making mechanisms (i.e. are not established by governmental institution, nor have members of governmental institution in their decision making bodies);
- Located and operating within the Macedonia. Implementing their activities on the territory of Macedonia, locally or across the country;
- Have a clearly defined focus for advocacy and policy influencing at any level;
- Are directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project, with a co-applicant, and not to act as a mediator.
- Note: Individuals, political parties, international and foreign organizations, religious communities, organizations founded or steered by public/governmental institutions do not have the right to participate in this contest as an applicant and co-applicant.
