The Prince’s Countryside Fund is seeking applications from organizations that are supporting farmers, rural businesses and communities to recover following the flooding or projects that are focused on assisting the recovery and future resilience in these rural areas, particularly Cumbria, Lancashire, North Yorkshire, Herefordshire, Northumberland and Scotland.
The Fund’s mission is of a confident, robust and sustainable agricultural and rural community which is universally appreciated for its vital contribution to our British way of life and fit to support future generations.
Objectives
- Improve the viability of British farming targeting the areas of greatest need.
- Improve the sustainability of rural communities targeting the areas of greatest
- Reconnect people with the countryside.
Funding Information
Organizations can apply for a maximum of £50,000 (inclusive of VAT) of funding to a maximum period of three years. The Prince’s Countryside Fund’s Trustees can change this level in future rounds at their discretion.
Priority Areas
- Developing thriving rural communities by improving service provision in rural areas: The Fund will support projects that provide innovative solutions to deliver assets and services that keep rural communities together and develop a more sustainable rural economy.
- Transforming rural livelihoods by supporting rural enterprise and farming businesses: The Fund will support projects that will focus on developing stronger, more sustainable farm businesses and other rural enterprises with the aim of halting the decline of the rural economy.
- Creating the farmers of the future by providing training opportunities for young people and unemployed people: The Fund will support projects that help people improve their skills and increase their opportunities of taking up rural careers – especially in farming with the aim of remaining in and contributing to the rural economy.
