The U.S. Embassy Mozambique Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program.
Purpose of Small Grants: PDS Mozambique invites proposals for programs that strengthen ties between the United States and Mozambique through educational and cultural exchange. All programs must include an American element or connection with an American expert, organization, or institution. Given the importance of and interest in growing English language abilities, this cycle’s priority area is focused on increasing access to English learning.
Funding Information
- Length of performance period: 06 to 12 months
- Maximum number of awards anticipated: 05 awards (dependent on availability of funds)
- Award amounts: Each award may range from a minimum of $5,000.00 to a maximum of $30,000.00
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and Non-U. S Entities that engage geographically and demographically diverse audiences, including:
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Associations
- Foundations
- Think tanks
- National and regional media outlets
- Cultural and educational institutions
- They encourage organizations to work with people with disabilities (visual, hearing, or speech impaired, physical disability, etc.) to apply.
- Awards to individuals may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply.
Ineligibility
- The following types of programs are not eligible for funding:
- Programs relating to partisan political activity;
- Charitable or development activities;
- Construction programs;
- Programs that support specific religious activities;
- Fund-raising campaigns;
- Lobbying for specific legislation or programs;
- Scientific research;
- Programs intended primarily for the growth or institutional development of the organization; or
- Programs that duplicate existing programs.
