Applications are now accepted for the Indigenous Homelessness funding stream of the Reaching Home Program.
This program provides financial assistance to communities across Canada to support their efforts to meet local needs and address specific priorities related to homelessness among Indigenous people.
Through this call for proposals, contribution funding is available under the Indigenous Homelessness stream for projects in the Quebec region.
Objective
The objective of this call for proposals is to fund projects that:
- Aim to prevent and reduce Indigenous homelessness.
- Stabilize the lives of Indigenous individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness and assist them in moving towards self-sufficiency.
- Support the delivery of culturally-appropriate homelessness services and supports to Indigenous peoples.
- Strengthen the ability of organizations to support Indigenous peoples experiencing homelessness through capacity building, partnerships and/or the development of networks to increase impact and improve results.
Consideration will be given to projects that:
- Are led by an Indigenous organization
- Are led in partnership with an Indigenous organization
- Are led by an organization that has obtained a letter of support from an Indigenous organization located in the community/region where the proposed activities will be undertaken; and/or
- Provides opportunities for Indigenous community members targeted by the project to actively contribute to the project’s design and implementation
Funding Information
The amount requested must not exceed the amount of funding made available under this call for proposals. The funding available for new projects is $7,062,564.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations must be located in Canada and propose activities that will be carried out exclusively in Quebec, and that meet the specific needs of the off-reserve Indigenous population.

Indigenous organizations, including but not limited to the following:
- Incorporated for‑profit and not‑for‑profit Indigenous controlled organizations
- Indigenous-controlled unincorporated associations
- Indian Act Bands
- Tribal councils and self-governing indigenous entities
- Not-for-profit organizations
- For-profit organizations
- Municipalities
