The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is offering grants for funding the acquisition or construction of infrastructure to facilitate grains research and development.
The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is a statutory corporation established under the Primary Industries Research and Development Act 1989. It is subject to accountability and reporting obligations set out in the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013. It is responsible for planning, investing in and overseeing research and development, and delivering improvements in production, sustainability and profitability across the Australian grains industry.
Funding Information
- The total budget for this investment is up to $20 million.
- To participate in this Process, Applicants must seek funding in an amount that is between $50,000 excluding GST and $5 million excluding GST.
- GRDC invites Applications from Applicants who have planned projects that are ready to commence on or before June 30, 2023.
Eligible Projects
- Examples of what funding can be used for include building, developing or acquiring (as relevant) new:
- glasshouses;
- greenhouses;
- irrigation works;
- laboratories;
- sheds;
- silos;
- phenotyping equipment;
- sensing and communication networks;
- mobile farm and research equipment; or
- sample preparation and analytical equipment.
- This is an open, competitive grants process and not all Applicants may be awarded funding.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are mandatory conditions with which an Applicant must comply to participate in this grants process:
- an Applicant must be a single legal entity that is capable of entering into a Funding Agreement with GRDC;
- an Applicant must have an ABN;
- an Applicant must not be included on the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse’s website on the list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’;
- an Applicant must not be listed as non-compliant under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 at the closing date and time of this grant opportunity;
- the Project must be located in Australia;
- an Application must be for funding for new, or an enhancement of existing, infrastructure that will primarily be used for grains research and development in Australia;
- the Applicant must provide a Co-Contribution to the Project.
Requirements
An Application must comply with the following requirements:
- the Application must be written in English
- funding sought must be submitted in Australian dollars and exclusive of GST; and
- the Application must include a duly signed deed poll substantially in the form in the Attachment.
