The United Nations World Food Programme is requesting proposals for the School Meals Program.
Objective
- The general objectives of the program are:
- To guarantee access for children, persons with disabilities, school staff, and their families to diverse and quality foods through distribution strategies adapted to the context.
- To contribute to households reducing the use of negative coping strategies related to food consumption and access.
- To promote access to school, contributing to the enrolment, attendance, and retention of children in the educational system, with a strengthened educational community.

Cross-Cutting Activities
- (nutrition-sensitive activities, disability inclusion, community communication and engagement, and dissemination of the community feedback mechanism).
- WFP regularly coordinates with central/local authorities to ensure the proper functioning of the ECP. WFP is responsible for purchasing school meals from private sector suppliers, as well as for transportation to schools, except in specific cases where the implementing partner is requested to do so. The implementing partner is responsible for organizing the delivery of school meals to each school, according to the corresponding modality. The partners also ensure beneficiary registration according to guidelines established exclusively by WFP; conduct training to strengthen local capacities; and disseminate the program and its educational content, serving as the main channel of communication with schools
Selection Criteria
- The applicant organization must have a consolidated presence in the state
- The applicant organization must have an operational capacity that allows it to allow you to navigate and overcome the access and security difficulties present in the state
- The applicant organization demonstrates expertise in the areas of interest
- The applicant organization must submit a proposal under a criterion of cost efficiency
- The applicant organization must demonstrate an innovative approach that enables the leveraging activities between both organizations
