Deadline: 15-Feb-23
The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC – formerly Ministry of Science and Technology MOST) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) are launching a call for proposals for outstanding joint research projects in all fields of science.
This initiative aims to bring together relevant and competitive researchers from Germany and Taiwan to design and carry out collaborative research projects. Funds to be used by the Taiwanese side must be requested from NSTC; funds to be used by the German side must be requested from DFG. Special attention is given to the integrated character of proposed projects, from the concept to the work plan. Funding is only available for projects which involve a convincing collaboration between the German and Taiwanese partners and for which the anticipated research benefit is clearly outlined. The collaborative projects selected will receive research funding for a period of up to three years.
Objectives
- Research grants enable individuals to conduct, at any time, research projects with clearly defined topics and durations, regardless of the subject.
- The DFG Head Office staff will be happy to advise you, especially if your proposal does not seem to fit into the module system.
Funding Information
- A total of €1,000 per funding year and applicant can be requested.
- Duration: The maximum initial funding duration is three years. Subsequently, a renewal proposal may be submitted.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants from Taiwan are required to fulfil all requirements for funding and follow the general regulations of NSTC.
- Researchers in Germany, or those working at a German research institution abroad, who have completed their academic training (a doctorate as a rule) are eligible to apply for DFG research grants.
- In general you are not eligible to submit a proposal if you work at an institution that is not non-profit or one that does not allow immediate publication of research findings in a generally accessible form.
- Researchers who are employed at one of the institutes or member organisations of the Max Planck Society, Fraunhofer Society, Helmholtz Association or Leibniz Association, researchers working at a publicly funded institute associated with one of these organisations, and researchers working at international research facilities located in Germany should note the rules on the duty to cooperate.
