The MAPFRE Foundation is seeking applications for its Ignacio H. de Larramendi Research Grants to improve peoples quality of life and the progress of society through multinational programs and activities.
To achieve their goals, they organize a wide range of activities worldwide in five key areas that all share a common objective: their responsible commitment to society.

- Health Promotion
- Strategies and education to change habits: prevention of obesity, and the promotion of physical activity and emotional well-being (including the appropriate use of new technologies).
- Emergency response training for the general population.
- Assessment of bodily harm: assessment of the consequences of an event (traumatic or accidental, medical negligence, aggression or disease) on the health of the individual and its repercussions on the core activities of ordinary life and other specific personal development activities (moral damage, loss of quality of life).
- Health management: clinical quality and safety.
- Longevity and how lifestyle influences this.
- Insurance and Social Protection
- Insurance.
- Risk management: Emerging risks.
- New technologies in the insurance field.
- Social protection: pensions, savings, investment, asset liquidation and the Silver

Funding Information
- In 2025, Fundación MAPFRE will award research grants amounting to a total of 265,000 euros to financially support research projects in the following areas:
- Health Promotion: grants will be awarded up to a maximum gross value of 30,000 euros each.
- Insurance and Social Protection: grants will be awarded up to a maximum gross value of 15,000 euros each.
Eligibility Criteria
- The grants are open to any academic and professional researcher and research teams led by a researcher that wish to run research programs in the aforementioned areas, independently or as part of the universities, hospitals, companies or research centers to which they are affiliated.
- For the purposes of the application, there must only be one principal investigator per project.
- The grant will have a duration of one calendar year from the date of acceptance and formalization of the corresponding documentation (Acceptance protocol), which is accepted and complied with upon submission of the application.

- Experience of the applicant and/or research team in the subject.
- Innovation.
- Scientific and technical quality of the work methodology.
- The feasibility, applicability and potential social impact of the proposed solutions.
Application Requirements
- To apply for a grant, the interested party must access the website to submit an application online by the deadline stipulated in the terms and conditions of the call for proposals, and attach the following documentation:
- Professional résumé of the Principal Investigator and, when applicable, of the other members of the research team. The maximum length of the résumé shall be five pages per team member.
- A report outlining the research project, which must be original and unpublished, using the template available. It must be 8 to 12 pages long using 12-point Arial font.
- The report must include the following sections:
- Project Summary-Abstract (10 lines).
- Objectives and justification of the project.
- Research methodology.
- Experience and suitability of the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team, if applicable.
- Detailed budget and schedule. The budget to be submitted must include all applicable expenses and costs, including expressly any levies or fees that may be required by the institution to which, if any, the Principal Investigator belongs.
- On the completion date the Principal Investigator of the project must submit a report in Spanish, English or Portuguese detailing the results of the research. Furthermore, a two to four-page summary of the work must be submitted in one of these three languages. Likewise, a financial report on the project must be submitted, detailing the different project costs.
