The Nevo Parudimos Association has launched a call for applications from Roma and pro-Roma civil society organizations registered and active in Romania.
Objectives
- Strengthen the capacities of Roma and pro-Roma civil society, as well as Roma communities, to promote and uphold the EU values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including those of minorities.
- Promote Roma access to fundamental rights.
- To promote equality and social inclusion of Roma.
- To promote a human rights-based perspective on the situation of Roma.
- To combat anti-Gypsism.
- Monitor the implementation of national Roma integration strategies at the national level local, regional or national.
- To develop cooperation between Roma communities and public institutions.
- To develop cooperation between Roma and non-Roma civil society.
Funding Information
- The total grant available for projects funded in Romania is EUR 300,000, with a maximum grant of EUR 30,000 per project.
- Projects funded under this call must be implemented between January 1, 2026 – 31 august 2027.
Eligible Activities
- Types of activities eligible for funding:
- Capacity-building activities targeting organisations, professionals or community members, such as trainings, coaching, workshops, mentoring and other non-formal education tools.
- Awareness-raising activities targeting the general public, including communication actions and campaigns, creation and dissemination of offline and online materials, public events and cultural products.
- Advocacy and monitoring activities to strengthen the rule of law and the representation of disadvantaged groups, including legal advice and advocacy activities, community organisation and mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation of government policies and programmes targeting Roma, as well as the development of official positions and publications.
- Community initiatives promoting active citizenship and participation of Roma and other members of society, such as local actions, volunteering initiatives and support for grassroots movements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Civil society organizations registered and operating in Romania can apply for a grant if they meet the following conditions:
- They are not established for the purpose of obtaining personal profit.
- They can carry out remunerated economic activities and employ staff, but
any income obtained cannot be distributed to members, founders or individuals

- They are not established for the purpose of obtaining personal profit.
- They may carry out remunerated economic activities and may employ personnel, but any income obtained may not be distributed to members, founders or management.
- Economic activities must remain secondary and support the mission of the organization.
- Their main purpose is not to represent the economic or professional interests of their members.
- They were established voluntarily by individuals or groups, and their activities include volunteer elements.
- They operate in the public interest and in public life, for the benefit of
people, groups or society as a whole, without seeking to obtain
political power. - They have a clearly defined mission, an internal structure and governance rules provided for in the statute or in the constitutive act.
- Operates in a democratic, transparent and participatory manner, with elected or appointed leaders who are accountable to the members and supporters of the organisation.
- Publishes annual activity and financial reports, in accordance with national law,
and ensures public access to the activities carried out. Newly established organisations, which are not yet legally obliged to submit public reports, may provide a description of their initial activities and planned measures for transparency. - Is independent of national, regional and local governments, public institutions, political parties and commercial entities. The majority of the founders or members of the governing body must not represent these institutions.
- Has no outstanding public debts.
- Respects and promotes the fundamental rights and values of the European Union, in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union and the Charter of Fundamental Rights. A signed declaration confirming this commitment must be attached to the application.
